OUR NEW HOME – MOVE UPDATE
Hello Canine Center Family and Friends,
We are very happy to announce that The Canine Center has found a permanent new home! Starting June 29, we will be at 11500 Hwy 290 West on approximately 14 acres, which is located only 6 miles from our current location.
As you will recall, we have reached out to you around a possible move over the past 18 months. We want to thank you for your patience and support while we explored possibilities. We also want to thank our friends at Cracker Dog for being willing to host us at their second property. It was a nice sense of confidence to have a second option.
What does this mean for travel times?
Since most of you already travel through the William Cannon interchange, not much changes for you. Just another 5 minutes down 290. For those of you that can make use of other routes, this is going to be much better. You can avoid the Y entirely. Not sure of the best route? Check our website, or give us a call, we will be happy to help.
Why are we moving?
This move gives The Canine Center a permanent homebase that allows us to fulfill our larger plans for growth and expansion. Eventually, we want to invest in facilities designed with our philosophy of living with dogs in mind, seminar spaces, larger retail offering, water features, covered training areas and my favorite, more than one toilet! We have invested in an expanded intern group with the plans to add to our staff so we can offer more Tutor space, more class and appointment options, as well as expanded services.
While things will seem more rustic at first, we gain an accessible creek that doesn’t flood the property, more varied terrain, fewer cedar trees, and stadium style lighting for night classes. It is a beautiful spot, and for the first time ever, TCCTB will be fenced in. This is a little for your peace of mind, but is more about keeping other critters and folks out. We still believe that you should have influence over your dog to prevent them from leaving, and that is still what we will be teaching.
For those of you that have been with us since the Lee Mannix days, you know that we are a determined bunch who does what we set out to do. The original facilities were certainly not what we have today. Our commitment to you and each other is what has made this possible and we thank you for your support. We hope you will join us on this new adventure!
